The province of Huelva, from the National Park of Doñana to Ayamonte and the mouth of the river Guadiana, is full of hidden treasures and places to enjoy. El Rocío, Huelva capital, the Natural Reserve of the Marshes of Odiel, the wine route, La Rábida, Moguer and Palos de la Frontera are all places which you should not miss during your holidays on the Costa de la Luz. When we speak about the province of Huelva, we speak about diversity, nature, development, tourism, history, fishing, industry, beaches, future projects- Huelva is a place of great variety.
With regards the beaches, it can be said that Huelva has 150 kilometres of fine golden sand, dunes, pine forests, hotel complexes, services, wild beaches and developed beaches, all combined together in this unique setting. Besides the wonderful beaches you will find on your holiday in Huelva, it's also worth mentioning the outstanding natural surroundings; nature spots, national parks, natural reserves, lakes, and above all the Doñana National Park, the environmental jewel in the crown of Southern Europe, with its rich biodiversity. Thousands of birds, of hundreds of different species, pass through this space every year, and the flora and fauna is especially rich.
Huelva also stands for history. From here Christopher Columbus and the Pinzón brothers set sail, in search of the Indies, in the ships La Pinta, La Niña and La Santamaría, but instead discovered America.
Many civilizations have passed through Huelva, including the Tartessians, the Moors, the Christians...
As well as all that, Huelva has "the Wine route", El Rocío religious festival, Jabugo cured ham, the history of Niebla, the marshes of Isla Cristina, the marshes of Odiel, the mines of Rio Tinto, etc...all part of the history and charm of this province, and all worth enjoying while you are on holiday in Huelva. |
