From Guadiana on the border of Portugal to the Guadalquivir, the border of Cadiz, Seville there are 150kms for fine sand beaches on the coastline of Huelva in Andalusia, Spain. The Atlantic Ocean of the Costa de la luz has wild beaches and crystal clear waters for your enjoyment while on holiday in this lovely paradise!

Beaches in Huelva:

Let's start with the Isla Canela and Punta del Moral, beaches that pertain to the municipality of Ayamonte, and have infrastructures and a tourist complex full with all of the commodities that will make you feel at home durig your holiday stay in Huelva.

Then there is Isla Cristina, a fishing village with customs and traditions that go back decades past in this activity in the Gulf of Cadiz. There are 8 km of beach, most are ideal for aquatic sports. All kinds of services available here.

La Antilla is the most extensive of the Province of Huelva, with 22 km of fine sand. The beach pertains to the Municipality of Lepe, famous for its strawberries and figs. This municipality has also a Mudejar church that was built in the 15th century. Close to this beach is a big hotel complex with all kinds of activities, both cultural and sport. If you want to try great seafood, try El Terrón.

Next on our list is El Rompido, a small fishing village situated on the mouth of the River Piedras, in the municipality of Cartaya, a place that goes back hundreds of years, that has the San Pedro Church and the Convento de los Mercedes from the 13th Cenetury. El Rompido has a fantastic beach and some 10 km of beaches, with an important strip of dunes next to it. Dunes and pine trees, perfect for nature lovers. Make sure to also see Cartaya, the Laguna del Portil, and El Paraje of the Isla de En Medio, an ecological reserve.

Next is Punta Umbria, the equator of the Onubense Coast where the Huelva River empties, and where we find the Paraje Natural de las Marismas de Odiel, a small fishing village that, through the years, has become a tourist hot spot. You'll find some of the best fish here. Its marina, kilometres of fine sand beaches, and services are its main attractions.

In Punta Umbria is where the Costa de la Luz ends and the Huelva Coast begins. If you go East, it is an area full of dunes, pine forests, golden sand, and dreamy beaches, a plece where you'll find some of the oldest watch towers of the province such as the Torre de la Punta de Umbria from the 14th century, whose only mission was to defend the area from invasions coming from the sea.

Getting to the more eastern part of the Huelva coast, you'll arerive to Mazagon and Torre del Oro, 10 km of beach that run parallel to cliffs. This part of Huelva has a national lookout point in its domain as well as a strong hotel infrastructure.

Lastly, e arrive to Matalascañas, that brushes with the Parque Natural de Doñana, that has some of the biggest tourist infrastructure on the Huelvan Costa de la Luz. From bars, to restaurants, hotels, discos, sport complexes, and of course, a beach lover's paradise. Matalascañas is surrounded by the Parque Nacional de Doñana.

Between Matalascañas and Mazagón, you'll find a treasure of beaches, from dunes and cliffs of great beauty.
